Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website operators.

In addition to cookies, we also use localStorage, a browser storage mechanism that allows websites to store data locally on your device. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not automatically sent to the server with every request.

2. How We Use Cookies

Speed Signal AI uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

We use Microsoft Clarity for optional analytics (see the Analytics Cookies section below). Clarity cookies are placed only after you consent to the Analytics category in our cookie banner; if you do not consent, no analytics cookies are set. We do not currently use cookies for advertising or marketing purposes. If we add such cookies in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent through our cookie banner.

3. Cookies We Use

Below is a detailed breakdown of all cookies and storage mechanisms used on our site, organized by category.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. They enable core features like authentication and secure login. You cannot opt out of essential cookies because the service cannot operate without them.

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable features that are not strictly essential but improve your experience, such as live chat support. You can opt out of functional cookies through our cookie banner, but doing so will disable the live chat widget.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration

Analytics Cookies

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our site and dashboard, through aggregated usage statistics, heatmaps, and session recordings. This helps us find and fix usability problems. Clarity is optional: these cookies are placed only after you accept the Analytics category in our cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6). Session recordings mask sensitive input fields by default. If you do not accept the Analytics category, Clarity does not load and no analytics cookies are set; if you withdraw consent after accepting, Clarity stops recording and its cookies are removed.

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
_clckMicrosoft ClarityPersists a Clarity user ID and preferences for this site, so repeat visits are attributed to the same anonymous user.1 year
_clskMicrosoft ClarityConnects multiple page views by the same user into a single session recording.1 day

For how Microsoft processes this data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Marketing Cookies

Not currently in use. If we add marketing or advertising cookies in the future, this section will be updated and your explicit consent will be required before any marketing cookies are placed on your device.

4. Local Storage Usage

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's localStorage to store the following data. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

KeyPurposeData Stored
ss-v2-stateDashboard preferencesYour selected filters, active tab, scroll position, and other UI state. This ensures your dashboard looks the same when you return.
ss-themeTheme preferenceYour dark or light theme choice for the dashboard (also mirrored in the ss-theme cookie above so the documentation site can match it).
ss-cookie-consentCookie consent preferencesYour cookie consent choices (which categories you accepted or declined). Used to remember your decision so we don't ask again on every visit.

5. How to Manage Cookies

Using our cookie banner

When you first visit our site, a cookie banner will appear allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your consent (see Section 6 below).

Using your browser settings

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the dashboard. Here are links to cookie management instructions for common browsers:

6. How to Change Your Consent

The easiest way to review or change your choices, including withdrawing consent for analytics, is the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of our site, which reopens the consent banner at any time. Alternatively, you can reset your consent record directly in your browser:

Alternatively, clearing all site data for our domain in your browser settings will also reset your consent preferences.

7. Third-Party Cookie Policies

Our third-party service providers have their own cookie and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them:

We do not control the cookies set by these third parties. Their use of cookies is governed by their respective privacy policies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our business practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

If we introduce new cookie categories (such as analytics or marketing), we will request your consent through an updated cookie banner before placing those cookies on your device.
